Chiikawa is a soft, gentle, and emotionally expressive kawaii world. Every placement should feel cozy, innocent, and warm — never aggressive or sarcastic. Keep compositions airy with generous whitespace and pastel tones so the characters stay the hero of the frame.
DO
- Use the official line art at full opacity on light, uncluttered backgrounds.
- Keep the characters' proportions and rounded, simple facial features exactly as supplied.
- Pair with soft pastel palettes and plenty of negative space.
- Show characters in gentle, wholesome situations (eating, hugging, resting).
DON'T
- Don't recolor, stretch, skew, or add hard outlines to the characters.
- Don't place characters over busy photography or high-contrast neon backgrounds.
- Don't combine with violent, political, or adult-oriented themes.
- Don't redraw, trace, or create derivative 'fan-style' poses.
Color palette
Typography
Use a rounded, friendly sans-serif for Latin copy (e.g. a geometric rounded face). Headlines stay light-weight and lowercase where possible. Avoid condensed, bold, or aggressive display fonts. Japanese copy must use the brand-approved maru-gothic style.
Clear space & sizing
Maintain clear space equal to the height of a character's head on all sides of any character lock-up. Minimum on-screen height is 96px; minimum print height is 15mm to preserve facial detail.
