Royalties are ongoing payments to rights holders based on revenue generated using the licensed IP. They can stack with an upfront fee or stand alone.
How royalties are calculated
A royalty is a percentage of qualifying revenue reported for the license period. Iptoria computes accruals automatically and shows them in the Royalties view.
Splitting across collaborators
If an asset has multiple rights holders, each accrual is divided by the configured split before distribution. Splits must total 100%.
- Define each collaborator and their percentage when listing.
- Iptoria validates that splits sum to exactly 100%.
- Each distribution shows a per-collaborator breakdown.
Keep splits simple where possible — every collaborator on a split must be verified to receive distributions.
